# Dear Name > Check a mail merge before sending it. Paste a subject and body with {{field}} or {{field|fallback}} placeholders > and the recipient sheet (CSV or tab-separated, with a header row). The page merges every email and checks each one - > placeholders the sheet has no column for, blank values that would print "Hi ,", single braces that print as written, > malformed or repeated addresses, long subjects - previews each recipient's email, draws the merge as a wall of stamped > envelopes and exports the merged emails. A metered run reviews the template (must-fix and could-fix points quoting > your words, with a rewrite) and writes a one-line personal opener for each recipient from that person's notes only. > Built on the SkillSafe skill @googleworkspace/recipe-send-personalized-emails. An independent tool, not affiliated with > or endorsed by Google; it works with any mail app. https://dear-name.skillsafe.ai/ ## What is free - Reading the sheet: commas, tabs or semicolons, quoted cells; up to 200 rows and 20 columns. The email column and a notes column (notes, context, about...) are found by name. - The merge: {{field}} matches a column ignoring case and spaces; {{field|fallback}} fills blanks; {{opener}} places the personal line yourself. - The checks: unknown fields, unclosed or single braces, blanks with no fallback, malformed and repeated addresses (repeats are skipped), subjects over 78 characters. - A preview of every email, the envelope wall (PNG, SVG), and exports: merged CSV (email, subject, body, status) and all emails as text. - Any one email opens as a draft in your own mail app (a mail link). Nothing is sent from the page. - Three samples replay their saved reviews at no cost. ## The metered task One task, `merge`, on gpt-terra, metered per run. Input string fields: `task`, `goal`, `sender`, `subject`, `body`, `fields`, `checks`, `rows` (one line per recipient, `r1.` ..., with the used values and notes; the first 40 emails that are not skipped, and the page says so when there are more) and `counts`. The reply is one JSON object: `verdict` (`ready` or `revise`), `review` (each `level`, `quote`, `why`, `fix`), `openers` (each `row`, `line`), `subject_alt` and `note`. The page keeps one opener per row that has notes, splices it after the greeting, warns when an opener mentions a name or detail from another recipient's row or a number that row does not have, and warns when a review quote is not in the template. ## Links - API tutorial: https://dear-name.skillsafe.ai/api.html - Source skill: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@googleworkspace/recipe-send-personalized-emails
